Rossano called also ‘Calabria’s Byzantine pearl’, is an important town divided between the old part, located on a hill, and Rossano Scalo, the modern tourist part, located on the coastline of the Ionian Sea. It was probably a Greek settlement, and the area was developed under the Romans, but it’s best period was during the Byzantine age, around the 9th century a.C. (after Christ).

After Sicily’s Arab conquest, Calabria became a strategic defensive point for the Byzantine empire, and Rossano became one of its strongholds.
Rossano’s territory is fully of olive and citrus groves that create contrasts with unique colours and smells that make extraordinary this corner of Calabria.

Rossano is a living city fully of entertainment offering places . It is well known for the ‘Acquapark Odissea 2000’, the biggest water park in the South of Italy, with breath-taking attractions close to the beach and surrounded by a blooming landscape.
