General Condition
The J/105 is a boat that's easily sailed by two and rewarding to sail for an afternoon. You don't have to be a serious sailor to own a J/105. Many are set up with roller-furling headsails; in fact, furling gear is part of the class rules.

True crossover designs are the hardest to make work, but when they do, they usually become trendsetting, and that's the case with the J/105. She’s simple, but has a wonderfully efficient deck design with a generous cockpit. The hull form is low and narrow, with a very low center of gravity.

Actual Condition
Seems like this J/105 ECLIPSE has some winning history behind her; for instance, she was in the windy Around the Island distance race during Block Island Race Week; and went on to win her 17-boat one-design fleet by a single point. She has won many other races going as far back as 2007!

Unfortunately, as of recent, it was reported the J/105 ran aground on the rocks, causing a large hole in the bow with stress fractures running aft from the bow. Once the tide went out, the remainder of the water was pumped out. It was also mentioned the engine was reviewed, drained, oil replaced and she ran. Therefore there may be a chance with the engine.

The sails and interior cushions where not with the vessel, therefore, are not included. Being as she took on water, we recommended replacing any electronics, and wiring. She does have potential, and for the right day-sailor with resources and the know-how, she could be a great again.
