Opis

UNDER OFFER - CHATEAU XIIIth century - PUYLAURENS This beautiful feudal Chateau was built in 1286. It stands on a 244m high hill and enjoys a panoramic and breathtaking view, near ??Puylaurens, Castres, and Lavaur. It was burned during the religion wars in 1568 by Protestants. The chateau, with its beautiful entrance door, was rebuilt in the XVIIth century under the King Henri IV. Cardinal and Minister Richelieu lowered its towers. One can still admire the beautiful round towers with its Renaissance windows. The oldest part of the building is located in the west of the chateau, where you can still see the watchtower, a moat and a rampart. Inside the courtyard houses a Gothic door decorated with plant patterns. There is still a beautiful spiral staircase or dungeon, built in 1450, traces of the old drawbridge between the two round towers, the moat that surrounded it as well as arrow slits. The chateau is built in a circle with a courtyard in its center and offers 1400 m2 of living space on 3 levels, with 55 rooms including 43 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. It has been inhabited by a community until 2013 and was constantly followed.
